Spotlight on Paris, luxury capital of Europe

Paris - Christian Dalera

Paris is as well known for luxury, fashion and shopping as it is for romance and culture. Yes there is the very intellectually cool left bank to visit Shakespeare and Co for a novel, or the numerous cafes surrounding the St Sulpice, but Paris really comes into its element when you go shopping.

Arguably the luxury capital of Europe where else compares to the astonigsing shopping districts of Paris?
Among them are the Faubourg Saint-Honoré district, the pulse of Paris design and fashion, and the Boulevard Haussmann, where all the world famous Parisian department stores with real Belle Eopque grandeur can be found.
Paris Shopping - Christian DaleraAvenue Montaigne and Avenue des Champs-Elysées form one of the city's hottest fashion junctures. Ave. Montaigne is fast outstripping Saint Honoré in notoriety, with legendary designers like Chanel and Dior lining the street. The Champs-Elysées features luxury names (Louis Vuitton) while also being a major spot for shopping in trendy global chains like Zara.
When I go to Paris I always try to split my time evenly between feeding my wardrobe and feeding my soul, so a visit to the Louvre is a must. Don't try to take it all in on one visit but make each visit an hour or two visiting the various areas within the giant museum, one of the world's largest and most visited (and home to the famous Mona Lisa).
There is an index of possibilities where hotels are concerned. If I am going 5-star it's got to be the Four Seasons Hotel George V for me. it is located just steps from the Champs-Elysées. Impeccable service, and decadent fine dining unmatched in Paris in my opinion.
From the best shops and bistros to stunning architecture and little-known museums, some of Paris' most worthwhile tourist stops are located just a few minutes from the Hotel.
In the evening DO at least once see the show at the legenday Moulin Rouge, the food is a tad crummy by the

show is worth it, if nothing else as a once in a lifetime experience. Before the show walk up the side street by the Moulin Rouge and stop in the corner bar-cafe about half way up for the authentic feel of Paris in its joie de vivre.
It was American author Ernest Hemingway who once wrote: “If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.” I could not agree more.

Watch the video below. It is a luxury guide to Paris by the team at justluxe.

“Cities have sexes: London is a man, Paris a woman, and New York a well-adjusted transsexual.”
